A carefully-structured programme of swings, pushes and pulls in conjunction with squats, lunges, bends and twists, performed with a kettlebell (a small piece of kit resembling a cannonball with a handle), for a combined cardiovascular and muscular (resistance training) workout and increased flexibility. Low impact, no complicated choreography. Kettlebells provided free for your first course of classes.

A "no partners" dance-based class mixing graceful ballroom with up-tempo Latin, a taste of different countries and eras and an injection of dance aerobics, for a workout that's fun, varied and enjoyable, and as gentle or energetic as you choose to make it. You don't need to be able to dance but a little enthusiasm and verve will go a long wayt! Mats not required for this class.

This sociable and light-hearted class is designed to improve your flexibility, release muscular tension, lengthen the body, strengthen the core and reduce mental and physical fatigue.

Fun, feel-good fitness in the fresh air, all year round, whatever the weather. Total body workout using different formats, including boxercise, circuits, HIIT, and designed to work the cardiovascular (CV) system, improve core strength, muscular strength and endurance and bone health. Resistance training uses hand-held weights (optional) and bodyweight exercises. Sessions are individually designed for the location, participants and conditions. Uplifting and supersociable, GO puts your body through its paces and soothes your soul. Mondays and Wednesdays at Great Hucklow during daylight, then under floodlights at Eyam and Calver respectively. Saturdays usually at Eyam, starting and ending half an hour later during the deepest darkest winter months. |
All classes are suitable for apparently healthy adults of any age (PAR-Q health questionnaire must be completed before your first class). Please wear clothing that allows freedom of movement and layers you can remove if you get hot, supportive shoes (e.g. trainers) and bring water to drink and a mat for floor-work. You may also wish to bring a small towel to wipe away the sweat. For GO, you may at times need gloves, a hat and waterproofs, and a plastic bag to protect your car seat on the way home! And in summer, possibly sun protection and insect repellent.
